Drama and improvisation games are a fun, dynamic form of play helping children to explore their imagination and enjoy a little escape from reality.
During play we can make mistakes and try things that we wouldn’t dare do in everyday life.
We learn empathy and understand what it means to be human.
Drama contributes to social and emotional development as we improve our listening and observational skills, learning how to cooperate and how to handle situations and people.

A typical class will begin with a physical or vocal warm up, a short game to create the right atmosphere and to bring the group into the right frame of mind.
The group will then tackle the main activity which can vary from improvising a scene, developing a sketch or characters or writing a script. The session will conclude with a cool down, a calm game such as a mime exercise, trust or observation game.
