Inspiring, practical and enriching courses for people interested in teaching the arts to children
Maybe you’re a parent, childminder, dancer, student, artist or you work at a playgroup, nursery or toddler group? If you enjoy interacting with children and are passionate about the role creativity and imagination plays in a child’s world, a Dazzle Training Course is for you.
A Dazzle Training Course is designed for those who wish to learn more about the teaching of the arts to young children. You may already have training in a certain aspect of performing arts, you may want to revitalise your skills and confidence, you may want to teach more creatively.
Dazzle aims to give you the confidence, skills and professionalism to teach an arts based subject to children.
What you’ll gain:
Knowledge of the ‘nuts and bolts’ of running and teaching children’s classes, courses or parties.
Confidence teaching arts based subjects to children aged 3-5
Practical experience with groups of children in a workshop setting
Business advice from 12 years of experience of Dazzles successful courses and workshops
Folder with materials including warm up games, themed ideas and templates
Access to Dazzles on-line assistance and resources
Practical & Hands on Experience
During the two days, groups of children, aged from 3-5 years, will attend for a variety of example classes giving you the opportunity to work hands on with children in a supportive setting. The sessions will include a selection of Dazzle classes ranging from Dance Tots, Dazzle Tots and Croga Tots classes and a Dazzle Tots Birthday Party. You will experience and develop appropriate teaching strategies and learn the Dazzle method and ethos of teaching to children. You will be given the chance to include your own ideas and run activities within the classes and you will have opportunities to engage in honest and constructive feedback and be able to discuss areas of your practice that you would like to improve.
Class, Party & Course Planning
Topics covered and discussed will include: Structure, preparation and variety of a lesson or a series of lessons, birthday parties, engagement of the children, appropriate themes, music and language, responsibilities. You will leave with manuals on lesson and party planning, drama, movement and voice games and a list of resource materials.
Ongoing Support
There will be times when you need support. It may be a behavioural or safety issue. Maybe you could just do with some encouragement. Dazzle is available to give you ongoing support and encouragement whether by phone or email. If you would like more training this can be arranged through work shadowing at Dazzle classes.
