In August 2006 Dazzle ran its first intensive holiday workshop which combined script, drama and stage skills with set and props creation. This format is still going strong. Children who may not initially have the confidence to perform are allowed to gradually connect with the group through individual and small group craft activities, gaining trust and confidence with their fellow Dazzlers. They do not feel forced under a spotlight as the focus is not all about the performance. A child makes a mask and they are excited to wear it. They paint a backdrop and they are excited to stand in front of it. Equality and creativity are what we aim for at Dazzle which hopefully leads to trust and self confidence in other areas of their lives.
Dazzles next Drama & Scenery workshop is running this October half term in Minchinhampton.
